Frequently asked questions

  1. Can I see a Physical Therapist with out a prescription from my doctor?

You do not need a prescription or referral to see your physical therapist; you can come directly to us. In many cases, visiting a physical therapist first through Direct Access can save you hundreds of dollars. Rest assured, we are more than willing to collaborate with your medical provider if you have one. 2. Do health care insurance programs cover physical therapy programs?

At Planet Physical Therapy, we accept all major insurances and bill our patients only for their in-network financial responsibilities as a courtesy. Our associates at Planet Physical Therapy are available to assist with any insurance-related inquiries you may have.

  3. Are you in network with my health insurance?

As a gesture of goodwill towards our patients, we ensure that they are not held accountable for any charges exceeding those of a participating provider. In essence, we only bill our patients the same amount that an in-network provider would, absolving them of any additional financial burden.

  4. How long will my appointment last?

Your initial appointment is scheduled to last approximately one hour. During this time, your therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation, including a review of your medical history, diagnostic testing, assessment of your flexibility, strength, and endurance, as well as an evaluation of your current functional deficits and therapy goals.

At the end of your appointment, your therapist will discuss your personalized treatment plan with you and address any questions or concerns you may have. Your active participation and dedication to the treatment plan are essential for achieving optimal results.

Follow-up appointments may vary in length, typically ranging from 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the specific needs of your treatment plan.

  5. What do in need to bring with me?

Please ensure you have the following items with you for your upcoming appointment: your doctor's prescription (if applicable), your insurance card, a valid photo I.D., and completed paperwork. You can access all necessary forms for your initial visit on our New Patient page. Additionally, remember to bring any medical assistive devices such as a brace, splint, cane, walker, or crutches.

It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing that allows your clinician easy access to your affected areas and enables you to move freely. Alternatively, you may bring a change of clothes for your appointment.

If you have any questions prior to your visit, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to assist you in any way we can. Thank you for choosing our practice for your healthcare needs.

  6. What should I do after my initial visit?

After completing your rehabilitation, some patients may opt to continue with home exercises, while others may prefer a gym exercise program. Some patients may even be ready to return to their normal daily activities. It is crucial that you communicate your goals to us so that we can create a personalized program tailored to your needs, helping you get back to your lifestyle quicker and better than before.
